How We Verified This List
Every fact about every firm below came off that firm's own website, fetched on October 9, 2026. Where a firm publishes nothing, the profile says "Not published". Scope is California, Oregon and Washington, plus Arizona and Nevada as the near West. Four filters decided who made it.
The Four Inclusion Filters
1. An office in the region, named on the firm's own site by city, phone area code or street address.
2. Sell-side M&A advisory for a private company, not buy-side only or capital raising only.
3. A checkable identity: a named principal, broker-dealer or license number.
4. A site that renders. Blank or blocked sites were left off.
Entries marked Verified · Deal Network were confirmed with the firm directly; see TrustRank. ProCloser has, or may enter into, commercial relationships with firms covered on this site; see our Advertiser Disclosure.
Two flags on the evidence. The Merger Expert's site presented a failed security certificate when fetched and its transactions page returned an error, so its profile rests on the homepage. The GeekWire article behind the Highspot deal returned a block to the fetch, so that row rests on its headline and the index summary.
What was left off. Cascadia Capital returned an empty page, Solganick & Co returned access denied, and Intrepid publishes no client band. The Vant Group and SF&P Advisors list Texas and Florida addresses.
How We Evaluated the Firms
Five weighted criteria, each applied to every entry and counted only when the firm publishes the evidence.
- Band fit (30%): a published revenue or EBITDA band that overlaps $10M to $100M in revenue.
- Close record (25%): a published close rate or transaction count, firm-reported.
- Named partners (20%): partners named on the site who run the engagement.
- Sell-side focus (15%): sell-side as the core mandate rather than a side service.
- Regional closes (10%): named closes in the five states.
Kinected Advisors scores highest on band fit, close record and sell-side focus. NewCap Partners matches the band but publishes no close record, and Chinook Capital Advisors publishes a close rate but no client band. Nothing verified beat Kinected Advisors, so it is first.

Tier 1: A Published Band or Record
1Kinected Advisors Verified · Deal Network
| Headquarters | 16255 Ventura Blvd., Suite 625, Encino, CA 91436, in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. |
| Founded | 2014, by Kevin Berson. |
| Team | Two named senior partners: Kevin Berson, Founder and Managing Partner, and Jim Twerdahl, Partner. The firm states that both partners personally lead every engagement, with no associate hand-offs. |
| Deal size | $10M to $100M in revenue, published; generally $1M or more of EBITDA |
| Sectors | Manufacturing, industrial services, business services, construction management, plumbing and HVAC, utility services, specialty trades, IT managed services, eCommerce, clinical trials, packaging, B2B distribution |
| Track record | The firm publishes more than 50 closed transactions, roughly $1B advised, an 89% close rate (firm-reported October 2026) and 50 years of combined partner experience. |
Kinected Advisors comes first because it is the only firm on this page that publishes all four things a founder needs to size up an advisor: a revenue band, a close rate, the names of the two partners who run the deal and a sell-side-only mandate. The band is $10M to $100M in revenue with an EBITDA floor near $1M. The firm says it does not represent buyers, manage acquisitions or raise capital, so there is no buy-side mandate in your sector to worry about.
Berson was part of a corporate-development team that ran acquisitions at a $5B company. Twerdahl is an operator and acquirer: CEO of Jensen Sound Laboratories, President of JBL under Harman and President of Marantz. Both have sat on the buyer side.
The West Coast fit is the sector list. It leans toward the industrial and services economy that fills the Valley, the Inland Empire and the Pacific Northwest supply chain: manufacturing, utility services, specialty trades, plumbing and HVAC, IT managed services and B2B distribution. The firm also runs ExitBoost®, a pre-sale program for owners two to three years from a sale, and offers a confidential valuation opinion.
Recent closes: Firm-reported on its case-study pages: Pride Resource Partners to Think Power Solutions, a Warren Equity Partners company; Compass Consulting to CIO Solutions (IT managed services, LOI April 2023, closed July 2023, 209 buyers contacted, 43 NDAs, 4 offers); Power Plumbing to a private-equity platform add-on in under six months at a 20% premium over the internal valuation; a precision metal fabrication and aerospace parts shop sold to an individual buyer with SBA financing; Alros Label Co. to a private buyer, all cash, in under 120 days; and Clements Environmental.
Best for: owner-run manufacturing, trades, industrial services and IT services companies between $10M and $100M in revenue, in any of the five states, where the owner wants the two people in the pitch to run the deal.
Considerations: Kinected Advisors states on its own site that it is not a registered broker-dealer, and Berson holds a California DRE broker license plus CEPA, CM&AP, CBI and M&AMI credentials, so confirm the structure with a securities attorney. The close rate and the transaction counts are the firm's own claims and not audited; ask for referenceable clients behind them. A two-partner team has limited capacity, so confirm availability for your timeline.
2NewCap Partners
| Headquarters | Los Angeles, CA (310-645-7900). The pages reviewed list partners in Los Angeles, Orange County and Silicon Valley but no street address. |
| Founded | Serving entrepreneurs since 1987, per the firm. |
| Team | Danny Piper, Managing Partner, with partners Tom Turney, Valerio Giannini, Kenneth A. |
| Deal size | $10M to $100M in annual revenue, published as "typically ranging between $10 million and $100 million in annual revenue" |
| Sectors | Not published as a list |
| Track record | Not published as a deal count. |
NewCap Partners states the same revenue band as Kinected Advisors, $10M to $100M, and has the longest published operating history of any California firm on this page, since 1987. That makes it the closest like-for-like comparison for a founder choosing between two California boutiques.
Recent closes: Tombstones on the firm's site, undated: i3DMFG, Hybrid Manufacturing Technologies, Managed Mobile, Optisys, Cable Grippers, Arevo, Morf, Nuvotronics, Structured Polymers, Postcard Printing Inc. and APT Water.
Best for: California founders between $10M and $100M in revenue who want a long-tenured firm with a named partner in Los Angeles, Orange County or the Bay Area.
Considerations: Securities are offered through Finalis Securities LLC, per the firm's contact page. Ask for dated closes and how many mandates reached a signed deal, since neither is published.
3Chinook Capital Advisors
| Headquarters | 5145 Carillon Point, Building 5000, 1st Floor, Kirkland, WA 98033. |
| Founded | 2017, per the co-founder bios. |
| Team | John O'Dore and Ed Kirk, Co-Founders. |
| Deal size | Not published as a client band; the firm's Chinook Report profiles transactions with enterprise value between $5M and $100M |
| Sectors | Manufacturing, distribution, business services |
| Track record | More than 100 team transactions and an 80% close rate on sell-side engagements, both firm-reported, with 75 or more years of combined team experience. |
Chinook Capital Advisors is the strongest Pacific Northwest option for a seller who wants a stated record. It publishes an 80% close rate on sell-side engagements and a count of more than 100 team transactions, and it names the two co-founders who lead engagements. Its pitch is narrow on purpose: privately held and family-owned businesses in the Pacific Northwest.
Recent closes: Named clients on the site, undated: Seattle Galvanizing Company, Team Electric, SeaTac Electric, Comphy and Gem Shavings.
Best for: Founder-owned Pacific Northwest manufacturers, distributors and services companies that want a local team and a published close rate.
Considerations: No individual deal values or dates are published, and the firm does not state a client revenue floor. Ask for two closes near your size.
4Alexander Hutton
| Headquarters | Seattle, WA (206-341-9800). The pages reviewed give no street address. |
| Founded | Not published on the pages reviewed. |
| Team | James Thompson, Managing Director and CEO; Tony Richardson and Stephen Humphreys, Managing Directors; Scott Hardman, Chairman. |
| Deal size | Not published |
| Sectors | Services, industrials, home services |
| Track record | 234 successful transactions totaling $4.5 billion in value, firm-reported. |
Recent closes: From the transactions page, undated: Collinear Group to Capgemini; Systems in Motion to RMH Systems; Diversified Plastics to The Rubber Group; Formula Corp to San Francisco Equity Partners; Quick Dry Restoration to Guardian Restoration Partners; Cardinal Heating and Air to SE Capital.
Best for: Puget Sound sellers in services, industrials and home services who want the longest record and sponsor-backed buyers.
Considerations: No band, close rate, founding year or registration is published. Ask which closes were under $50M and which partner would lead your process.
5The Merger Expert
| Headquarters | Portland, OR (503-746-6736). The page reviewed gives no street address. |
| Founded | Not published; the site cites more than 25 years of practice. |
| Team | Michael S. |
| Deal size | $5M to $75M in revenue, published |
| Sectors | Not published as a list |
| Track record | Claims 41,000 hours of M&A experience. |
Best for: Oregon owners with $5M to $75M in revenue who want one senior person and a results-based fee.
Considerations: A one-person practice has capacity and continuity risk. Ask for named references and a written fee schedule.
6William & Wall
| Headquarters | 15051 N Kierland Blvd, Floor 3, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. |
| Founded | 2021, per the firm. |
| Team | Tro Panosian, Founder and CEO; Michael Tully, Executive Chairman; David Barnett, Vice Chairman; Jack Stelianou, Vice President; a board of sector advisors covering healthcare, professional services, technology, aerospace, industrials and distribution. |
| Deal size | EBITDA above $3M and revenue below $300M, published |
| Sectors | Industry agnostic |
| Track record | $1.2B in clients served and $30B in lifetime volume, both firm-reported; the site cites 35 or more years of founder experience. |
Best for: Arizona and Mountain West founders with at least $3M of EBITDA who want a Phoenix-based team and regional deal reporting.
Considerations: The firm-level record starts in 2021 and the lifetime volume figure is partner experience, not firm closes. It also does buy-side work, so ask about conflicts.

Get Matched →Tier 2: Thinner Public Detail
Six active firms with no client band and little or no close record. Each needs a size question answered first.
7Exit Strategies Group
| Headquarters | 531 E Washington St, Petaluma, CA 94952, with a San Francisco Bay Area line (707-778-2040) and a Portland line (503-925-5510). |
| Founded | 2002, per the firm. |
| Team | Articles on the site are bylined by Adam Wiskind, Al Statz and Roy Martinez; titles are not published on the pages reviewed. |
| Deal size | Not published; guidance on the site says construction companies with more than $10M in revenue are the easiest to sell |
| Sectors | Industrial and healthcare |
| Track record | States that it has completed hundreds of transactions, mostly as exclusive sell-side advisor. |
Recent closes: Dated on the firm's site: Turner Designs to Solinst and Power Motion (September 14, 2026); SmartClinic Urgent Cares and Ralph W. Earl Company (August 11, 2026); Teknikor and Rhino Tool House (April 8, 2026).
Best for: Northern California and Oregon industrial and healthcare owners who want a long-running firm with dated, public closes and valuation work.
Considerations: The firm cites a California DRE license number, not a FINRA registration. Ask a securities attorney whether that structure fits your sale, and ask for the revenue range of the last five closes.
8CriticalPoint Partners
| Headquarters | 2101 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 4255, El Segundo, CA 90245. |
| Founded | 2012, by Matt Young, with Brad Holtmeier joining soon after as partner. |
| Team | Matt Young and Brad Holtmeier, both private equity executives and military veterans; Curt Himebauch is the business development contact. |
| Deal size | Not published; describes itself as a middle-market firm |
| Sectors | Not published as a list |
| Track record | Not published as a deal count on the pages reviewed. |
Best for: Los Angeles South Bay owners who want an advisor that can also bring private capital to the table.
Considerations: The investing arm creates a possible conflict on the buyer side. Ask whether the firm or an affiliate has ever bid on a company it advised.
9Zachary Scott
| Headquarters | 1200 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1500, Seattle, WA 98101 (206-224-7380). |
| Founded | Not published on the pages reviewed. |
| Team | Not named on the pages reviewed. |
| Deal size | Not published |
| Sectors | Seafood, distribution, logistics |
| Track record | Not itemized by date; the work page, fetched in October 2026, filters by sell-side, buy-side and complex situations. |
Recent closes: Case studies are filterable by industry on the work page; none are dated in the text reviewed.
Best for: Seattle and Alaska-linked food, seafood, distribution and logistics owners.
Considerations: Ask who the lead banker would be and for two sell-side closes in your industry, since the pages reviewed name neither.
10Concord Ventures
| Headquarters | Seattle, WA (425-637-0117). The pages reviewed give no street address. |
| Founded | 2001, by Salim Dada. |
| Team | Salim Dada, Managing Director and CEO, plus advisors for technology, business and technology and biotechnology and four M&A advisors. |
| Deal size | Not published |
| Sectors | Industrial, B2B services, aerospace |
| Track record | States "over 75 years of experience" in aggregate. |
Best for: Aerospace-supply and industrial manufacturers in the Seattle area.
Considerations: Get a size range and at least one dated close in writing before engaging.
11Columbia West Capital
| Headquarters | 14624 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 124, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. |
| Founded | Not published on the pages reviewed. |
| Team | John Farr, Managing Director, formerly of Honeywell Aerospace M&A, PNC Equity Management and Deutsche Bank Securities. |
| Deal size | Not published; describes itself as a middle-market firm |
| Sectors | Generalist |
| Track record | Founders and partners report involvement in transactions totaling over $25 billion in aggregate, including M&A, equity and debt. |
Best for: Phoenix-area owners who want a FINRA-registered generalist with an aerospace and consumer background.
Considerations: Ask for closes from the last 24 months, since the site looks unchanged since 2019.
12Objective Investment Banking & Valuation
| Headquarters | Offices in Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County; registered office at 11622 El Camino Real, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92130, which the firm says does not accept mail. |
| Founded | 2006, per the firm. |
| Team | Managing Directors Trever Acers, Channing Hamlet and Jordi Pujol, CFA, plus a growth and business development director and a fractional CFO. |
| Deal size | Not published on the pages reviewed |
| Sectors | Business services, healthcare, manufacturing, tech |
| Track record | Shows more than two dozen tombstones, among them Toft Group, ProEst and Kindred Bravely. |
Recent closes: Toft Group Executive Search to ZRG Partners (RFE Investment Partners); further tombstones include Freeberg, Supreme, Bell Canyon, Kindred Bravely, ProEst and StudyKIK. Undated.
Best for: Southern California owners who want a valuation and an M&A process from one firm.
Considerations: Investment banking services run through BA Securities, LLC, an unaffiliated Member FINRA SIPC, so check that entity on BrokerCheck. Confirm the size range directly.
What 2026 Deal Data Shows for West Coast Companies
ProCloser's public deal index holds 2,126 announced acquisitions, one source link per row, skewed to software and IT services. A search of target, summary and title fields for West Coast and near-West place names returned 16 US-target rows. Three were read at the source.
- Hunter Communications, Medford, Oregon. Oak Hill Capital completed its acquisition on March 31, 2026. The release calls Hunter Oregon's largest privately owned fiber-optic internet provider and says the company will expand across Oregon and Northern California. Terms were not disclosed and the index credits no advisor. Source release.
- Damon Technology Solutions, Phoenix, Arizona. Nexus IT, a Salt Lake City managed IT provider, completed the purchase on February 25, 2026. The release calls it Nexus IT's ninth deal. Terms were not disclosed and no advisor is credited. Source release.
- Highspot, Seattle, Washington. Seismic completed its merger with Highspot, a Seattle sales enablement software company, on August 18, 2026, with Seattle staying an R&D location. Terms were not disclosed and no advisor is credited. The GeekWire article blocked the fetch, so this row rests on its headline and the index summary. Source article.
None of the three announcements named a sell-side advisor, which is why advisor rankings built on deal data alone are guesses. See the full deal index.
The Honest Tier Below This Band
Under about $2M in revenue, a local broker is the honest option, and the likely buyer is an individual using SBA financing. No brokerage for this region was checked on its own site, so none is named. Read business broker versus M&A advisor first.
The Honest Tier Above This Band
Above roughly $300M in enterprise value the large national banks take over. See the Los Angeles and Seattle guides for office detail.
What These Advisors Charge
None of the 12 firms publishes a rate card. These ranges come from the M&A advisory fees guide.
| Deal Size (EV) | Retainer, Monthly | Success Fee | Approx Total at Close |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5M to $15M | $5,000 to $10,000 | Around 4% to 6% | $300K to $800K |
| $15M to $50M | $10,000 to $20,000 | Around 3% to 5% | $600K to $2.0M |
| $50M to $100M | $15,000 to $25,000 | Around 2% to 3% | $1.2M to $3.0M |
Ask whether the retainer is credited against the success fee and what the minimum is. The Merger Expert says it is paid only on results. Run numbers on the fee calculator.
The Frames in This Guide
Six lenses, each with a rule, a number and an action.
1. The Seattle Tech-and-Aerospace Test
Seattle sellers face two buyer pools, software acquirers and the aerospace supply chain. Seismic's August 18, 2026 merger with Highspot is a software example, while Concord Ventures says aerospace is its largest category of sales. Action: ask a Seattle firm for one close in your pool, not the other.
2. The Pacific Northwest Industrial Test
Oregon and Washington industrial companies increasingly draw private-equity buyers. Oak Hill Capital closed Hunter Communications of Medford on March 31, 2026. Action: ask whether the advisor has a Portland presence and which sponsors it has called.
3. The Phoenix Growth Corridor Test
Phoenix companies draw buyers from outside Arizona. a Salt Lake City provider bought Damon Technology Solutions on February 25, 2026. Action: ask a Scottsdale firm for its buyer geography on the last three closes.
4. The California Depth Test
California has the most firms and the widest spread of quality. five of the 12 firms here are California-based, and only two of the five publish a client band. Action: shortlist by band first, then by sector.
5. The Platform Add-On Test
private-equity platforms buy by sector and size, not by state. the Power Plumbing sale to a platform add-on closed in under six months, firm-reported. Action: ask which platforms the advisor contacted on its last three sales and which bid.
6. The Mountain West SBA Test
below about $10M in revenue the best buyer is often an individual with SBA financing. a precision metal fabrication shop in the Kinected record sold that way. Action: if your buyer is likely an individual, confirm the advisor will run that process rather than steer you to a sponsor.
How to Verify an Advisor Is Legit and Unconflicted
- Find the legal entity that signs the letter and search it on FINRA BrokerCheck.
- Check the license model. Two firms here cite a California real estate license, not FINRA. Ask a securities attorney if that fits.
- Ask who else the firm acts for. A buy-side or investing arm may conflict with your best buyer.
- Call the phone number before sending financials.
- Ask for two references from deals that did not close.
The Traps in a Best Advisor List
- A published close rate is a claim. Kinected Advisors and Chinook Capital Advisors both publish one, and neither is audited. Ask for the denominator.
- A big career number is not a firm record. William & Wall and Columbia West Capital cite founder volume, which is not the same as the firm's own closes.
- A band in a research report is not a client band. Chinook's $5M to $100M range describes a report, not a promise to take your deal.
- Nevada is thin. No Nevada-based sell-side firm cleared the checks.
Where ProCloser Fits
ProCloser is not an M&A advisor and does not sell companies. It runs a deal-matching network and a public deal index. ProCloser is paid by advisory firms, not by sellers, which is a conflict worth knowing about before using the matching service. See the Advertiser Disclosure.
The Bottom Line
Route on market first, size second. California owners between $10M and $100M in revenue start with Kinected Advisors or NewCap Partners. Washington and Oregon owners start with Chinook Capital Advisors, Alexander Hutton or The Merger Expert. Phoenix owners with real earnings start with William & Wall. Add Exit Strategies Group for Northern California and Oregon industrial and healthcare companies. Nevada owners should search in California or Arizona.

Frequently Asked Questions
best sell-side M&A advisory firms for lower middle market companies in California?
Kinected Advisors in Encino and NewCap Partners in Los Angeles publish a $10M to $100M revenue band. Kinected also publishes an 89% close rate (firm-reported October 2026) and names the two partners who run every deal. NewCap has operated since 1987 with partners in Los Angeles, Orange County and Silicon Valley.
best boutique M&A advisory firms for selling a company with $10 million to $100 million in revenue?
Six firms publish a band or record that fits. Kinected Advisors and NewCap Partners state $10M to $100M in revenue, The Merger Expert states $5M to $75M, William & Wall states EBITDA above $3M with revenue below $300M, Chinook Capital Advisors reports an 80% close rate and Alexander Hutton reports 234 deals.
best M&A advisors to hire after receiving an unsolicited offer to buy my business?
Hire a sell-side advisor before you answer, and pick one that runs a competitive process rather than a counteroffer. Alexander Hutton and Chinook Capital Advisors publish the longest sell-side records in the Northwest.
best M&A advisors for a confidential valuation of a private company before selling?
Objective Investment Banking & Valuation runs a valuation group beside its M&A desk, Exit Strategies Group sells independent valuations and William & Wall lists business valuation as a service. Ask each for the standard of value in writing and whether the fee is credited if you hire them to sell.
best exit planning firms to increase business value before a sale?
Exit Strategies Group lists exit planning as a standing service and has operated since 2002. Alexander Hutton runs a Value Acceleration Program for owners preparing to sell.
top M&A advisors for selling a manufacturing or industrial services company?
Chinook Capital Advisors and Concord Ventures name manufacturing and industrial companies in the Pacific Northwest as core work, and Concord says aerospace is its largest category. NewCap Partners shows manufacturing tombstones in California. Ask each for two industrial sales near your size and the buyer type in each.
top M&A advisors for selling an HVAC, plumbing or specialty trades business?
Alexander Hutton lists Cardinal Heating and Air, sold to SE Capital, and Quick Dry Restoration, sold to Guardian Restoration Partners. A sponsor-backed platform is the usual buyer for a trades company above $10M in revenue, so ask how many platforms the advisor has called in the last year.
Is there a Nevada M&A advisor on this list?
No. No sell-side firm headquartered in Nevada passed the checks for this page. William & Wall publishes a Nevada page from Scottsdale, and NewCap Partners and Exit Strategies Group are the closest California options. Treat a Nevada sale as a California or Arizona engagement for now.
I am selling a $6M company to an individual with SBA financing. Is this list for me?
Mostly no. At that size a local broker is the honest option, and the buyer is usually an individual using an SBA loan. Read the broker versus advisor guide linked below. Above $10M in revenue, start with the six firms that publish a band or record.
