Methodology
Sources. Public announcements only: PR Newswire and GlobeNewswire M&A feeds, Business Wire, SEC EDGAR 8-K filings, Google News and TechCrunch acquisition feeds, and advisor announcement pages. No PitchBook, Crunchbase or CB Insights data is scraped or reproduced.
What counts. An announced acquisition (signed or closed) where the target is a software, SaaS, internet or technology-enabled business. Minority investments, funding rounds and rumours are excluded.
Verification. Every row links to a source that returned HTTP 200 on the day it was added and names both the target and the acquirer. Advisor credits appear only when the advisor's name is in that source text. Deal values appear only when a dollar figure is in the source; otherwise the value is recorded as undisclosed and is never estimated.
Updates. The pipeline runs daily. Rows are de-duplicated on target plus acquirer; a press release or 8-K is preferred over a news article when both exist. Rows marked medium confidence have a sector or value inferred from the source text; low-confidence rows are not published.
Corrections. If a row is wrong or you have a public source naming an advisor, contact us and we will fix it in the next build.
