The leaderboard: 57 firms credited on tracked 2026 tech deals
How to read this
Counts update as the deal index tracks new announcements, each documented to a public source. A firm appears once it is publicly credited on at least one tracked 2026 technology transaction. Ties share a rank. The index covers technology M&A: software, SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity, AI and adjacent sectors. For individual bankers rather than firms, no reliable public dataset exists at deal level; we list firms only rather than estimate.
Methodology in detail
ProCloser's advisor leaderboard ranks M&A advisory firms by public credited deal count: how many announced technology M&A transactions in the Deal Index name that firm, in a public source, as sell-side or buy-side advisor. Firms are not surveyed or self-reported; a credit counts only when a news release, regulatory filing or deal announcement names the advisor.
As of 2026-10-24T10:44:39Z, the Deal Index holds 2,175 tracked deals, 220 of which name at least one advisor. Name variants ('Jefferies LLC', 'Jefferies', 'Jefferies Financial Group Inc.') are canonicalized to one display name before counting, using the same adv_key/canonicalize_advisors helpers the Deal Index build uses, leaving 163 uniquely named credited advisor firms.
The leaderboard's top rank is 19 credited deals, held by 1 firm tied at that count. Ties share a rank rather than being broken arbitrarily.
