How we ranked the firms
The list is written for the owner of a Tampa Bay company, from a main street business to a lower middle market company. A firm qualified only if its own website showed an M&A advisory practice and an office address in the Tampa Bay metro: Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota or Lakeland. ProCloser publishes this page and assigned the tiers itself, using three criteria.
How the tiers were assigned
Deal focus. M&A advisory or business sales is the firm's main service, as described on its own site.
Disclosed deal count. Tier A needs a firm level count of 50 or more transactions, stated or listed on the firm's own site. Tier B needs a dollar total, a founder level count of 50 or more, or 10 or more listed deals with buyers named. Tier C covers firms with none of these.
Sector breadth. The number of industries and named sectors the firm shows. Breadth breaks ties within a tier, and firms are otherwise ordered by the size of the disclosed record.
Excluded from scoring: press coverage on its own, because the firm has to publish the deal itself; directory listings and third party profiles; any firm whose Tampa Bay address could not be confirmed on its own site; and any claim without a public page behind it.
Where a page carries no date or role, the entry says so rather than guess. Facts are as published on each firm's site as of October 2026, and every page is linked in the Sources section.

Tier A: Advisory firms with 50 or more transactions on their own site
Each of these firms states or lists 50 or more transactions on its own website and shows a Tampa Bay office address.
1 Hyde Park Capital
Investment bank headquartered in downtown Tampa that states 300 transactions on its homepage and serves six industries.
Best for: Owners of Tampa Bay companies in healthcare, technology, industrials, business services, financial services or consumer that want a bank with a stated 300 transaction record.
Hyde Park Capital lists its Tampa headquarters at 701 N Franklin St., Tampa, FL 33602 on its contact page. Its homepage shows a counter of 300 transactions and names six industries: healthcare, technology, industrials, business services, financial services and consumer.
Its about page gives the size band and the basis for the count: the firm generally executes M&A transactions from about $20 million to $500 million or more in enterprise value, and the 300 or more transactions, totaling more than $11 billion, are described as the record of its senior bankers since 2000. Its press releases name individual sales, including Commercial Residential Aluminum to Garden City Equity.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | 300 transactions stated on the homepage; Commercial Residential Aluminum to Garden City Equity |
| Role stated | Press releases say Hyde Park Capital advises the seller |
| Tier | A |
Considerations: The about page ties the 300 plus figure to the senior bankers since 2000, not to the firm alone, so ask which closes were done at Hyde Park Capital. The stated size band starts around $20 million, so smaller owners should ask whether they fit.
Firm pages: Hyde Park Capital homepage; Hyde Park Capital contact page; Hyde Park Capital about page; Commercial Residential Aluminum to Garden City Equity.
2 Viking M&A
Mergers and acquisitions firm founded in 1996 with a Tampa office that states more than 950 business sales.
Best for: Owners of Tampa Bay trades, manufacturing, marine, automotive and services businesses valued between $1 million and $150 million.
Viking Mergers & Acquisitions lists its Tampa office at 1000 N Ashley Drive, Suite 315, Tampa, FL 33602 on its Tampa market page. The firm says it has brokered over 950 deals since 1996 and that it specializes in selling businesses valued between $1 million and $150 million.
The Tampa market page names local sales across environmental services, HVAC and plumbing, signage, industrial parts, boat trailers, boat dealerships, car dealerships, engineering services, multi-location physical therapy and sporting goods wholesale. Named examples include Knights Mechanical, FASTSIGNS, Florida Tool, Road King Trailers and Millers Boating Center.
In the ProCloser deal index, Viking appears as sell-side advisor on two records: Whitlock Infrastructure Solutions to Virtual Technologies Group (February 2, 2026) and Beyond Secure to NuView (January 13, 2026). Neither target is based in Tampa Bay.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | Over 950 deals since 1996 stated on the homepage; Knights Mechanical; Road King Trailers; Millers Boating Center |
| Role stated | Not stated per deal on the Tampa page |
| Tier | A |
Considerations: The firm's own pages give two totals (over 950 deals and a counter reading 800 plus) and two upper size limits ($100 million in the brokerage section, $150 million elsewhere). Ask which figures apply to the Tampa team and to businesses your size.
Firm pages: Viking M&A Tampa market page; Viking M&A homepage.
3 Colonnade Advisors
Investment bank with a Clearwater office that lists 72 transactions and over $10 billion in client outcomes.
Best for: Owners of auto dealership services, business services or financial services companies, including premium finance and insurance related businesses.
Colonnade Advisors lists 600 Cleveland St., Suite 272, Clearwater, FL 33755 on its contact page, alongside a Chicago office. Its transactions page lists 72 transactions, and its homepage cites over $10 billion in successful client outcomes.
Its sector coverage is narrower than the other Tier A firms: auto dealership services, business services and financial services. Named transactions include the sale of Pathward Financial's insurance premium finance business to Honor Capital, Stonemark to Imperial PFS, Crystal Fusion Technologies to APCO Holdings and Valley National Bank's sale of Agile Premium Finance to First Financial Bank.
| Tampa Bay office | Clearwater |
| Deal record on the firm's site | 72 transactions listed; Pathward insurance premium finance business to Honor Capital; Stonemark to Imperial PFS |
| Role stated | Colonnade advises the seller in the listed examples |
| Tier | A |
Considerations: The transactions page carries no dates, and the sector list is narrow. Outside those three sectors, ask for comparable closes before going further.
Firm pages: Colonnade Advisors contact page; Colonnade Advisors transactions page; Colonnade Advisors homepage.
Tier B: A dollar total, a founder level count or named buyers on listed deals
These firms show a Tampa Bay office and a smaller or less direct record: a dollar total, a founder level count, or a shorter list of deals with buyers named.
4 Benchmark International
Global M&A advisory firm with 15 listed offices, one in Tampa, that states more than $14.2 billion in engagements.
Best for: Owners who want a global buyer network and an advisor that covers 13 named industries, including construction, government contractors and transportation.
Benchmark International lists its Tampa office on 4030 West Boy Scout Blvd, Suite 500, Tampa, FL 33607 on its Tampa office page, which names Wade Duncan as the contact for sellers. The Tampa office is one of 15 locations on its site.
Its homepage states engagements in excess of $14.2 billion across various industries worldwide, and its industry menu lists architecture and engineering, business products and services, construction, consumer, food and retail, energy, resources and utilities, environmental and recycling, financial, government contractors, healthcare, industrial, software, technology and transportation.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | More than $14.2 billion in engagements stated; no transaction count on the pages reviewed |
| Role stated | Not stated |
| Tier | B |
Considerations: The pages show a dollar total, not a count of deals, and the Tampa office page names no Tampa transactions. Ask for the closes led from the Tampa office.
Firm pages: Benchmark International Tampa office page; Benchmark International homepage.
5 Skyway Capital Markets
Tampa investment bank whose transactions page names buyers on at least 18 completed deals.
Best for: Owners of building related, marine, pool and light industrial businesses that want to see named buyers on comparable sales.
Skyway Capital Markets lists 100 North Tampa Street, Suite 3550, Tampa, FL 33602 on its contact page. Its transactions page lists 18 deals on the first of two pages, each with the buyer or the recapitalizing investor named.
Named examples include Crowther acquired by Roofing Corp of America, FWP Pool & Spa acquired by Tenex, Denny's Marina acquired by Reeder Trausch Marine and American Aluminum acquired by Gamber Johnson. Its homepage also names several financing mandates, such as a $196 million equity raise for Madison Capital Group.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | 18 deals with buyers named on the first transactions page; Crowther to Roofing Corp of America; FWP Pool & Spa to Tenex |
| Role stated | Not stated per deal |
| Tier | B |
Considerations: The transactions page shows no dates and does not state Skyway's role on each deal, and we did not review its second page. Ask for the role, the date and the process on the three closest comparables.
Firm pages: Skyway Capital Markets contact page; Skyway Capital Markets transactions page.
6 Morgan & Westfield
Business brokerage and M&A firm with a Lakeland office whose founder bio cites the sale of over 300 companies.
Best for: Owners across a wide range of industries, from main street to deals of tens of millions, who want a firm with a long public record of closed sales by industry.
Morgan & Westfield lists its Lakeland office at 4175 South Pipkin Road, Lakeland, FL 33811 on its Lakeland office page. The page says founder Jacob Orosz has participated in or managed the sale of over 300 privately held companies, with transaction values up to $500 million, and that the firm has completed transactions in more than 100 industries.
Its past transactions list names industries rather than companies, including construction, food and beverage, healthcare, professional services, retail and wholesale and distribution. The page names no buyers, sellers or deal values.
| Tampa Bay office | Lakeland |
| Deal record on the firm's site | Over 300 companies sold by the founder; past transactions listed by industry, with no names |
| Role stated | Not stated |
| Tier | B |
Considerations: The 300 plus count is the founder's personal record, and the page shows no named deals. Ask which closes were handled by the Lakeland team and who led them.
Firm pages: Morgan & Westfield Lakeland office page.
Tier C: A Tampa Bay office with little published deal detail
These firms show a Tampa Bay office and describe their process, but publish no deal count and few or no named deals. That is not a verdict on their results, only on what a reader can check from the web.
7 Aberdeen Advisors
M&A advisory firm with a St. Petersburg office that names six success stories and four focus sectors.
Best for: Owners of healthcare, manufacturing, distribution or business services companies who want an advisor in the St. Petersburg area.
Aberdeen Advisors lists 146 Second Street North, Suite 310, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 on its homepage and its locations page, with a second office in Chicago. Its about page says the primary focus is healthcare, manufacturing, distribution and business services, and that the team is skilled across all industries.
The homepage shows six success stories by name: Raymow Construction, Trinicon, Tradewinds, UES Faulkner, Third Arch FGCI and Sphere RTS. The page gives no details on any of them, and the site states no count of completed transactions.
| Tampa Bay office | St. Petersburg |
| Deal record on the firm's site | Six named success stories with no details; no deal count stated |
| Role stated | Not stated |
| Tier | C |
Considerations: With no count, roles or dates on the pages reviewed, the record has to come from the firm. Ask for three closes near your size, with the buyer and the date on each.
Firm pages: Aberdeen Advisors homepage; Aberdeen Advisors locations page; Aberdeen Advisors about page.
8 TAMBAY Mergers
Tampa advisory firm led by its CEO that sells Florida businesses with $1 million to $20 million in revenue.
Best for: Owners of Florida businesses with $1 million to $20 million in revenue, mostly contracting, medical, technology and child care, who want the CEO on the deal from first call to close.
TAMBAY lists 13902 N Dale Mabry Hwy #102, Tampa, FL 33618 in its footer. Its selling page describes a seven step process that starts with a signed NDA and an opinion of value before any buyer is contacted, and says the owner works directly with the CEO, Tom Brubaker, from the first conversation to the closing table.
The same page puts the typical time to close at 6 to 12 months once a business is prepared, and says it works on 12 to 36 month planning windows. Its industries menu lists construction and contracting, medical, tech and child care, and the site cites a 2025 Business Brokers of Florida award for the highest dollar volume sold in the West Florida District. It names no transactions and states no deal count.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | No named deals and no deal count on the pages reviewed |
| Role stated | Not stated |
| Tier | C |
Considerations: The size criterion on the site is revenue, not sale value, and the record is not published as deals. Ask for the number of closed sales in the last three years and a reference from an owner.
Firm pages: TAMBAY Mergers homepage; TAMBAY Mergers selling a business page.
9 Edison Avenue
Tampa M&A advisory firm focused on privately held companies worth up to $25 million, with a stated buyer database of 12,000.
Best for: Owners of lower middle market companies worth up to $25 million, including owners who also need to sell or lease commercial property.
Edison Avenue lists 5550 W. Executive Dr., Suite 240, Tampa, FL 33609 on its homepage. Its about page says it leads sell-side and buy-side deals, handles valuations, packaging, marketing, due diligence and closing, and focuses on privately held companies worth up to $25 million. It also handles related real estate, whether a lease or a sale.
The about page cites a database of 12,000 buyers and says the team holds Certified Merger and Acquisition Professional credentials. It names no transactions and states no deal count.
| Tampa Bay office | Tampa |
| Deal record on the firm's site | No named deals and no deal count on the pages reviewed |
| Role stated | Not stated |
| Tier | C |
Considerations: The homepage counter for companies sold shows no figure, so the track record has to come from the firm. Ask for named closes, the buyer type on each and how the 12,000 buyer database is used.
Firm pages: Edison Avenue homepage; Edison Avenue about page.
How to Choose
Three questions separate the firms quickly.
- Which of your closest sales did this firm close, and who bought? Ask for three sales near your size and industry, with the buyer and the date on each.
- Who runs my process? Several of these sites describe a senior team. Ask whether that person, not a junior team, leads your sale.
- Which buyers will you call first and why? An office in Tampa Bay says where the team sits. The buyer list is what decides your price, so ask for it by pattern, not as a generic list.

What the ProCloser Deal Index Shows for Tampa Bay
The index has under 10 Tampa Bay deals, so this guide states no valuation multiple and no buyer mix from it. A keyword search of the 2,211 records for Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Lakeland and Florida returns four Florida based targets, and two name the Tampa Bay metro: Haneke Design acquired by FrankCrum (June 1, 2026) and Alliance IT acquired by Big Sur Technologies (October 13, 2026, with the source headline naming Sarasota and Venice). The other two are Fastrics acquired by KNAV (October 28, 2026) and RAS3 Communications and Consulting acquired by Amplix (June 10, 2026).
Viking M&A is the only firm on this list that appears by name as an advisor in the index, on two records, and neither target is in Tampa Bay. The index covers technology and software sellers, so it is not a sample of Tampa Bay sales in general. Browse the ProCloser deal index for the sectors it does cover.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the best M&A advisors in Tampa?
Hyde Park Capital, Viking M&A and Colonnade Advisors lead this guide because each one's own site states or lists 50 or more transactions. Benchmark International, Skyway Capital Markets and Morgan & Westfield follow with a dollar total, a founder level count or named buyers on listed deals. Aberdeen Advisors, TAMBAY Mergers and Edison Avenue each show a Tampa Bay office but publish little deal detail. Each has an office address in the Tampa Bay metro on its own website.
Which Tampa Bay M&A advisors publish the most deals?
Viking M&A says it has brokered over 950 deals since 1996. Hyde Park Capital shows 300 transactions on its homepage, which its about page ties to its senior bankers since 2000. Colonnade Advisors lists 72 transactions on its transactions page. Skyway Capital Markets lists 18 deals on the first of two pages. The other firms publish no firm level deal count.
Which Tampa advisors fit a business worth under $25 million?
Edison Avenue states a focus on privately held companies worth up to $25 million, and TAMBAY Mergers says its sweet spot is Florida businesses with $1 million to $20 million in revenue. Viking M&A states a range of $1 million to $150 million. Hyde Park Capital states a band that starts around $20 million in enterprise value, so it suits the larger end of that range.
Is an M&A advisor different from a business broker in Tampa?
The labels overlap on these sites. Viking M&A and Morgan & Westfield use business broker in their own page titles and offer M&A advisory. Hyde Park Capital and Colonnade Advisors describe themselves as investment banks. Rather than rely on the label, ask each firm for its three closest closed sales, the buyer on each and who will run your process.
Are there M&A advisors in Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Lakeland?
Yes for three of the four. Aberdeen Advisors shows an office in St. Petersburg, Colonnade Advisors in Clearwater and Morgan & Westfield in Lakeland. No Sarasota firm showed an office address on its own website in our review, so none is listed. The remaining six firms show Tampa addresses.
Which Tampa Bay advisors list marine, building related or home services sales?
Skyway Capital Markets lists Denny's Marina, Crowther (acquired by Roofing Corp of America) and FWP Pool & Spa. Viking M&A names Millers Boating Center, Road King Trailers and Knights Mechanical on its Tampa page. TAMBAY Mergers lists construction and contracting among its industries. Ask each firm which of those closes were led from its Tampa Bay office.
How long does it take to sell a business in Tampa Bay?
TAMBAY Mergers says the typical time to close is 6 to 12 months once a business is properly prepared and listed, and that it works on 12 to 36 month planning windows with owners. That is one firm's stated figure, not an index average. Ask every advisor for the timeline on its last three closes.
What financial records do Tampa advisors ask for?
TAMBAY Mergers says that at minimum an owner needs three years of profit and loss statements and tax returns, plus a current year to date profit and loss statement and a balance sheet. Other firms on this list do not publish a document list, so ask each one for its checklist before the first call.
What multiple do Tampa Bay businesses sell for?
The ProCloser deal index holds under 10 Tampa Bay deals, so this guide gives no valuation multiple and no buyer mix. For a range by industry, read the EBITDA multiples guide, and use the business valuation calculator for your own numbers.
Does the advisor need to be based in Tampa?
An office in Tampa Bay tells you where the team sits, not who the buyers are. Ask each firm for the buyers on its three closest comparable sales and how many came from outside Florida. Several firms on this list also run offices in other cities, such as Colonnade Advisors in Chicago and Benchmark International in 15 locations.
How is this list ranked?
Firms are placed in three tiers on three criteria: deal focus, the deal count disclosed on the firm's own site and sector breadth. Within a tier, firms are ordered by the size of the disclosed record. A firm qualified only if its own website showed an office address in the Tampa Bay metro. Evidence comes only from each firm's own pages, and the methodology section explains the tiers.
Is ProCloser an M&A advisor, and does it benefit from this list?
ProCloser is not an M&A advisor, runs no sale processes and takes no success fee on any transaction. It publishes this page and operates a matching service that introduces sellers to advisory firms and may receive compensation when you connect through it. That is a conflict, so read the disclosure at the bottom and verify each advisor yourself.

Where ProCloser Fits
ProCloser is not an M&A advisor, does not run sale processes and does not take a success fee on any transaction. We publish this page and operate a matching service that introduces sellers to advisory firms, some of which appear above.
That last clause is a conflict and you should treat it as one. Read the editorial disclosure at the bottom of the page. Then check each advisor's record yourself, because the opinion that should decide your mandate is the one you form after calling references.
